The thing is, the mass murdering demon cat is… actually right about forest fires? Our effort to stop them entirely made a mess of a lot of forest ecosystems, and made fires worse when they inevitably did happen. Controlled burns are more effective, as they clear out the dead matter that a natural fire would, with less risk of harming people.
