The adorably morbid – dare I say, morbidorable – tales of Baby Arika are at an end for now. I know this was “filler”, but I actually really enjoyed this interlude. Enough so that I retconned them into their own little “mini-chapter” in the archives! (In part because I snuck some foreshadowing in there that I’d like not to get lost.)

I’m going to be out of the country soon (I promise that’s not a euphemism for playing the new Zelda game) and I won’t be back until the 27th – so, that’s probably when the “real” next chapter is going to start. BUT! I’m pretty sure I have something very exciting lined up for the next two weeks. So, keep an eye out for that!

If I ever decide to do an interlude like Necromommycon again, what character(s) would you like it to focus on? A Kevin/Hud solo story? Darrk’s secret assassin log? Redgebeard’s pirate tales? The epic origin story of Dinofrog? LET ME KNOW!

Like I said in the last blog post, we’re going to be doing some filler-ish standalone comics before moving into the next story – specifically, some 4koma comics about Arika’s early life with her mother, the fearsome necromancer Charlotte. (Check the cast page out if you don’t remember her.)

Note that you read 4koma comics vertically, in columns – I’ve decided to throw two comics on each page as a lil’ consolation bonus, but don’t try to read the whole page as one thing!

Normally I hate clogging the archives with “filler”, but I’ve actually wanted an excuse to do this little spin-off for a while… hope you guys enjoy it!

Brand New World has reached its electrifying conclusion! (Well, technically, there’s one more page to go, but… you can draw your own conclusions about that on Wednesday.)

I think we’re going to take a break from new comics next week… and then I may be getting creative with some “filler” comics for a little while before we actually start up the next chapter. My buffer has been pretty trashed by the last couple of (particularly hellish & busy) weeks, and the next story has some pretty major gauntlet-throwing to do. It’s gonna be a good one! I’ve gotta bring my A-game!

Look, I really hate taking “hiatuses” all the time, but well… I’m a really busy guy… and this isn’t my day job… and I haven’t missed an update since October… and what do you ghouls want from me anyway, huh?! Begone, you vultures! (Just kidding, I love all my readers & I appreciate your boundless patience.)

Very excited for the stuff that’s coming up! It’s going to be a very different kind of Badnix – and it’s going to mark the return of a character who’s been gone for a while. (No, it isn’t Dinofrog.)

Earlier this month I had an idea for a holiday-themed dungeon crawler… which I managed to get about 5% of the way through coding before completely giving up. But I did write the music for it! You can check out its very tiny soundtrack over here.
