I’m sure the rest of the World Warriors fighter card collection will surface at some point (i.e. the next time I need filler comics), but for now I think it’s time to move on to the next new story!

What will Candy Hearts be about? Well, I can say that the two best stories to revisit as homework for this one would be Chain of Memories and Necromommycon. (Oh yes, I am not above including a bunch of foreshadowing and Lore Details in pseudo-filler “interlude” stories!)

But yeah, suffice it to say we’re checking back in with the characters who aren’t Sluri. It should be fun! Keep readin’.

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know about two games I worked on over the past week or so for the 2018 Dogpit Jam.

The first one is a solo game I worked on called Quest In Progress – it’s a short top down action game with a lil’ bit of a twist to it. I did all the art, coding, writing, music, etc. – if you like my other work it should be good for some fun ‘n some larfs. Check it out!

I also did a bunch of monster designs for a really neat weapon crafting game called Dungeon Profiteer! If you want to see some of my handcrafted goblins and ghouls knocking about in glorious 3D environments, you ought to go check that out as well.

Anyway, I’m not totally sure of when the next proper Badnix story will start just yet, but I’ve got some ideas for filler that should be starting on Wednesday. See you then~ 👋

It took a while, but we’ve finally reached the end of this chapter – which, granted, is still just part 2 of the ongoing World Warriors tournament arc. Clearly there are a lot of questions left to answer! Questions we will get to at a later date.

This turned out to be the longest Badnix story to date by a pretty decent margin! I generally like to keep these chapters pretty lean to keep the pacing brisk and avoid getting burned out working on them. This one very nearly got broken into multiple parts, but I worried it would utterly destroy the momentum of what I was going for. I’m really glad I made the choice I did – it’s given me a lot to think about with regards to writing & pacing the comic in the future.

Having said that, I am SUPER burned out from having kept this one chapter going since November (!), and I am in no way ready to launch into the next chapter yet. I’ll probably need to take a bit of a break, or at least resort to some filler comics before starting the next Big Storyline. I’ll be posting something here, anyway! Keep checkin’ back.

We’ve seen lots of little hints about Sluri’s past over the years, but I’ve always left most of it implied… for a very specific reason!

You might’ve noticed the big flashing “Games” button at the top of the site, which links to… exactly one game. Well, for ages I’d been intending to do a little JRPG-ish spin-off game about Sluri’s early years as a wizard-in-training in Fantasy World, which would’ve explained a bit more about her motives and her relationships with other characters.

But, for various reasons, I decided not to go ahead with that project, and it’s left Sluri a bit more ambiguous than I’d like. So, with some help from Kambei’s Mental Block, we’re getting a little peek into the backstory that would have been covered in that game. Before resuming the goofy fight scenes! Probably!

(Worth noting, BTW, that I still have some ideas for Badnix-related games that may actually happen! Don’t give up on that shiny ‘Games’ button just yet.)
