I’m realizing I’ve been maintaining radio silence for a while – sorry about that! Have been very busy juggling a bunch of other projects, as well as working ahead planning out the next Badnix story. (Speaking of, I’m hoping to start that up sometime next week or the week after!)

I originally intended to do some filler comics in the interim, but… well, I noticed that according to my (erratic, wildly inconsistent) numbering, the next page is going to be Badnix #600. And the first page of the next story is kind of really perfect as a milestone-capper? So yes, my own weird numerological superstitions are keeping you from new Talking Badnix and Necromommycon pages. Sorry about that!

I can reveal this for now: the next story will simply be called Story Mode, and it’s going to deal with Major Threads from The Overarching Story in kind of an unexpected and fun way. I’m really looking forward to it! Hope to get it in front of you guys before too long.

Sluri’s tournament saga is ending for now – but we will definitely be coming back to it later! Will our heroine’s luck hold out? Will new friendships and rivalries bloom in the heat of battle? Will the correct grammatical usage of “jabroni” be explored unto exhaustion? The answer to at least 2 of these questions is “yes, probably”.

I really wanted this story to be something really big and special and different… did everything I tried work? PROBABLY NOT! But I enjoyed the challenge and the change of pace. I hope you did too!

That said, despite all the preparation I did for this story, it really wound up kicking my teeth in. I am super burned out! Also I have a bunch of non-Badnix projects descending on me like ravenous deadline-vultures. So, I think I need to take a lil’ break. We’ll probably pick up with the next story sometime in July, but keep an eye out for blog posts & some fun filler stuff in the meantime.

The next story is a really, really fun one, starring a character who hasn’t shown up on-panel in ages! Caaan’t wait~

I’m back from my travels abroad – just in time for the end of BANDNIX! How great was that, right? Imagine how good Alex’s actual comics must be! Oh wait, you don’t have to imagine, because his beautiful comic magnum opus is already on the internet, primed for your eyeball-consumption.

Anyway, the very long Legitimate Story Content dry spell is finally going to come to an end next week. I am excited for what’s coming next! And also nervous that I may have bitten off way more than I can chew! Remember to check back on Monday, so we can all be excited and nervous together.
