In the Latin, “cum” means “with”! You know, like “summa cum laudae”? READ A BOOK FER CRIPE’S SAKE

Unfortunately I failed to take certain alternate readings of the term while writing Wednesday’s strip, which is simultaneously really funny and really embarrassing. Regardless, the strip has been amended for clarity.

    Probably a good thing that the old French changed it to “com” in words such as companion, communication, communion, commission, etc.
