If you’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (and if you haven’t, please do), you may remember a certain mini-game called Thrill Digger. You dig up holes, looking for Rupees and avoiding bombs; the color of the Rupees you dig up help you figure out how many bombs are nearby. It’s sort of like Minesweeper, with a little luck and memorization mixed in. I really liked the game, but I really disliked farming for money to play it, and I wished there was just a little less luck involved.
So, for kicks, I created the Thrill Digger Simulator! It’s an accurate (as far as I can tell) browser-based recreation of the mini-game, with no first-turn deaths, the inclusion of items you can buy to help improve your performance, and a slew of other cool features. Enjoy! (Unless you use Internet Explorer. In that case, download a better web browser, and then enjoy!)
In other news – the strip sure has gone to a dark place, huh? Well, you know what they say: it’s always darkest just before it keeps getting forever and the comic turns into Funky Winkerbean! They… they do say that, right?
